Joleen Gamez is a dancer based in Des Moines, Iowa and is trained in ballet, modern, and tap. Her love for dancing stemmed from participating in Iowa Dance Theatre productions such as The Nutcracker and The Little Mermaid and dancing as a member of the Pointe Academy Dance Ensemble. Dance has taken Joleen all over Iowa through opportunities including the Iowa Dance Festival, a music video with local artist Addilyn Erica, the Iowa Choreography Festival, and most recently, a position as a trainee dancer for Ballet Des Moines’s upcoming season. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Media Studies. This is Joleen’s third year in the Iowa Choreography Festival as a dancer and her first year as a choreographer.
